Richard Brown, Project Leader

Richard Brown Project Leader
Richard (age 50) is the founder and a Director of The Street and has some 20 years experience as a youth worker, both in full time employed and part time self-funded capacities, working both with churches and secular organisations, in London, Bristol, Manchester, Bridgwater, New Zealand and Cornwall. Richard’s passion is in reaching out to disadvantaged and marginalised young people, including those with substance abuse issues and the resultant life of “low level” crime. Richard’s “walking the streets” in Lostwithiel has enabled him to gain a good understanding of local young people, their world and their aspirations. Having gained their trust, he has been able to help them on a number of occasions to make their voices heard to those in positions of power and influence, as well as bringing counsel on better ways of living.
Sarah Pollard, Administrator
Sarah manages and runs a nursery business alongside helping The Street complete their administration tasks. Highly skilled she is a trained primary school teacher and her last job as Senior Teacher enabled her to hone her management skills.
Andrew Benbow, Volunteer
Andrew is a full time volunteer whilst he looks for a job. He is skilled in many areas and enjoys being part of the project (but not Richard’s jokes). He is willing to get on with the jobs given him and is able to manage his own time. He is a huge benefit to the project. We will be seeking some funding to employ him ourselves.
Dave Pollard, Director
Retired minister for the Church of England and retired Headmaster of Braddock school, Dave lends invaluable skills to The Street in management and financial stewardship.
Tim Leaman, Director
National Development Co-ordinator, Non-Formal Learning ASDAN
Tim’s role at ASDAN makes him an invaluable asset. It includes strategic, project and product management as well as business development.
