Our base is 3.5 acres of woodland that are currently being developed.
Split into 3 areas, the woodland comprise the welcome, animal and growing zones. Young people are encouraged to get involved wherever they can. As these facilities develop we will be able to offer young people a range of voluntary opportunities.
Working with marginalised and excluded young people we spend our time discovering their dreams and aspirations and then develop opportunities to see them to fruition. Many local young people face a lifetime without work but with encouragement they can create their own businesses, get involved in voluntary opportunities and strengthen their chance of employment.
The site will also become a playground. Young people need to play and don’t have enough encouragement to do so and what better place to build dens, tree houses, zip lines and simply play. We will install a fitness course for those mad enough to want to play and get fit!
We are campaigning to see the term NEET dropped for the term SWEETS. SWEETS is an acronym for Searching for work, employment and education and changes the tone from negative to positive.
We are a Community Interest Company and run as a social enterprise.
