Helping Unemployed Youth into Employment

The Street Outreach Project is setting up various projects to engage with young people and enable them into employment.

Outside of the projects we run, we are encouraging the young people to see the voluntary work as employed work. For instance we suggest we start at 9 and end at 5. We ask the young people to contact us if they are ill and unable to work. On completion of each project, the project co-ordinator is then able to write references that will encourage the young person and also enable an employer to see what they are capable of.

We have successfully helped several young people into employment in this way.
